How to Fix Logitech G Pro X Mic Not Working?
We will start with the small solutions at first, and then move on to the more complicated ones.
Check the connections:
The headset has two inputs, one for PC connectivity and the other for the mic. You need to ensure both of them are connected to the wire ends firmly. You will hear clicks when the connection is secure.
Secondly, you can also try connecting the headset to a different PC. It could be a secondary PC at your home that you do not use much, or you can reach out to a friend for help. Checking it with another PC will ensure whether the device is damaged in terms of hardware, or is a software issue. In case it is a hardware issue, you need to get it replaced or repaired by Logitech to fix the problem. There is no other way around it.
Allow Access to Microphone:
When the headset is connected to the computer, Windows can use it for other programs. But for all that, it first needs access to the microphone. Let’s see how we can grant that.
- Click on the search bar and look for Microphone privacy settings. Once it shows up in search results, click on it.
- Click on the change button and then turn on the toggle for Microphone access for this device.
- Turn on the toggle for the option Allow apps to access your microphone.
- Scroll down and find the option for allowing microphone access on the desktop. Turn on the toggle for that as well.
Now close every window and try using your mic on the headset. If it still does not work well, try the next solution.
Check Sound settings:
There are microphone settings built into the Windows control panel. There you need to ensure that the mic settings are correctly set for full functionality.
- Click on the search bar and look for Control Panel. Once it shows up in search results, click on it.
- Click on the view by option at the top right corner and a drop-down menu will appear. Select “Small Icons” here.
- Click on the Recording tab in the new menu that shows up. Here, make sure that the Logitech G Pro X Mic is enabled. If it is enabled, you will see a small green tick at the bottom of the microphone.
- Now click on the microphone and click on Set Default.
- Right-click on the mic again and then click on Properties.
- Now click on the levels tab. Here, drag the microphone volume slider to the max limit.
- Finally, click on Apply and then click on Ok.
Update your driver:
On some occasions, problems with mic and sound can be resolved simply by updating the audio drivers. Windows need up-to-date drivers to stay compatible with every possible device out there. So if you are on outdated drivers, update the audio drivers right away. That might solve your problem with the microphone on your headset.
There are three ways to update a driver. You can do it automatically, manually, or by using a third-party application.
To do it automatically, you can use Windows device manager.
- Press and hold Windows Key + X and choose “Device Manager” from the list of options.
- Expand Audio inputs and outputs in the device manager window and right-click on your audio device’s name.
- Choose “Update Driver.”
- Choose “Search automatically for updated driver software.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions and install the driver update that shows up.
For the manual process, you need to visit the Logitech support website and look for the driver setup file. It will be like any other software installation file. Once you find the setup file, install it on your computer as with any other application.

Besides these two methods, you also have a third option. You can install a third-party driver utility tool on your computer, and it will automatically scan your computer for any outdated or missing drivers. It will also install the latest drivers on your computer with a simple click. However, these utility software tools usually have a price tag. But the price is well worth it as you don’t need to worry about drivers on your computer even again.
If updating the audio drivers on your computer also does not solve your problem with the microphone, try the next solution.
Uninstall third-party audio tools:
Many of us use third-party equalizer audio tools on our computers to enhance the audio experience. By default, we get different kinds of audio settings and profiles when we install audio drivers. But some users like to tweak their audio experience, and in search of that, they use specific third-party audio tools as per their needs. These third-party audio tools could be the cause behind your problem, though.
The Logitech G Pro X headsets might not be compatible with the third-party audio tool you are using on your computer. In that case, the microphone won’t work no matter what you try with the application installed on your computer. The only solution you have here is to entirely uninstall that third-party audio tool from your computer.
Try the next solution if uninstalling the third-party audio tool did not solve your problem with the microphone.
Reinstall G Hub:
Logitech’s G Hub application is also at fault on some occasions. If you have that app on your computer, you need to try reinstalling it.
- Click on the search bar and look for Control Panel. Once it shows up in search results, click on it.
- Click on the view by option at the top right corner and a drop-down menu will appear. Select “Small Icons” here.
- Now click on Programs and features. This will display all the installed applications on your computer.
- Click on Logitech G Hub and then click Uninstall.
- Now, restart your computer.
- To download the latest version again, navigate to Logitech G Hub’s download page, and click on Download for Windows.
- Once the download is complete, open up the file and install the program on your computer.
After the reinstallation is done, try using the microphone again. If it still does not work well, try the next solution.
Run Audio Troubleshooter:
Windows has a troubleshooter utility tool that can scan the computer for any known issues and try to fix them for the user. If the troubleshooter can’t fix the issue, it will at least display information to the user about what is wrong with the Windows system. So for the microphone issue with the Logitech G Pro X, you could use the audio troubleshooter.
- Press Windows Key + I and then select Update & Security from the list of options.
- Then click on the Troubleshooting tab in the left pane.
- Click on Additional troubleshooters.
- In the next menu, click on the “Speech” option. That will initiate the speech troubleshooter for you. Make sure to keep the headphones connected when you are doing this.
- Let the troubleshooter run the scan and try the fixes for the problems that show up.
If the troubleshooter should be able to resolve your problem with the microphone.
