Players around the world can try out the demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake right now on PlayStation 4 and those who are willing to face extra hardships can witness an additional cutscene featuring Sephiroth.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake demo takes place during the opening segment of the game, where Cloud joins the members of AVALANCHE in a mission to blow up one of the Mako Reactors in Midgar. Cloud acts as the muscle of the group, protecting them from Shinra soldiers as they penetrate the facility. The demo does an excellent job of teaching the player about the intricacies of the combat system, as well as expanding upon the story of the original game.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake demo has a number of easter eggs, but it also has some brand new moments in order to keep things interesting for returning fans. There is a moment in the demo where the player is prompted to make a choice that didn’t exist in Final Fantasy VII, which will determine whether they see a new cutscene at the end.
How To Access The Secret Cutscene
Once the player reaches the heart of the reactor, they will need to plant a bomb and set its timer. The player is given the choice between twenty and thirty minutes on the timer. Selecting the timer will determine how much time the player has to escape from the reactor. In order to see the extra cutscene, the player will need to select the twenty-minute timer.
Once the player has selected the time, they will enter a boss battle against the Scorpion Sentinel. The timer will start when the battle ends, so they don’t need to rush the fight. The player then has twenty minutes to escape from the reactor, which should be an easy task if they have been keeping up with the new aspects of the combat system. Just use spells on the Sweeper and use Cloud’s Punisher Mode’s counterblow to easily dispatch the Shock Troopers.
What Happens In The Extra Cutscene?
Once the player escapes from the reactor, they are treated to a montage of scenes from the full version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. If the player selected the twenty-minute timer on the bomb, then there will be a few extra seconds of footage. The extra scene shows Cloud having another flashback, where he witnesses the famous moment of Sephiroth standing amongst the flames in Nibelheim. This extra scene suggests that we might see a full flashback of the Nibelheim Incident during Final Fantasy VII Remake, even though it didn’t happen until after the party leaves Midgar in Final Fantasy VII.
