Fibaro is launching three new HomeKit-compatible smart accessories including the first flood sensor that works with Apple’s new Home app alerts. Fibaro Flood Sensor joins Motion Sensor and Door/Window Sensor which are all expected to be available by the end of the year.
iOS 10.2 which was released this week includes “notification support for HomeKit accessories including window coverings, occupancy, motion, door/window, smoke, carbon monoxide, and water leak sensors.”
Fibaro Flood Sensor takes advantage of this new iOS 10 feature by sending you alerts when water is detected to notify you about leaks or flooding. Here’s how it works:

In addition to water detection, Flood Sensor also monitors temperature as well.
Fibaro plans to launch Flood Sensor in the United States for $69.99 by the end of the year.
Two other HomeKit accessories include Motion Sensor ($69.99) and Door/Window Sensor ($59.99).
Motion Sensor is visually unique as it includes “an eye-shaped LED indicator changes colors to signal motion, temperature level, tampering and light.” A built-in accelerometer that can trigger an alarm also makes it tamper proof.
